Food for Thought

Why is it bad to celebrate high achieving students by posting honor rolls, giving a modified GPA for AP classes, or simply appreciating intelligence, but it’s ok for a kid to sit on the bench or get cut from the team if he is not a good enough basketball player?  A trumpet player can get a Star at a state contest, but we don’t see a 34 on the ACT publicly hailed?

Schools can publicly celebrate every skill and talent except intelligence.  Why is that?

I am the language lover and these are my thoughts.
